The Annapolis Valley Hants Community Action Program for Children includes three community-based family resource programs:  Apple Tree Landing Children's Centre in Canning, Building Blocks Family Resource Centre in Kennetcook, and Chrysallis House Children's Outreach Program in Kentville.Through these resource centres and a network of outreach programs, the project offers coordinated primary prevention services to families with young children in rural areas. Programs include play and music programs for children, a toy and parent resource library, and workshops and parenting programs for young and single parents.  Contact for more information.

Walking club for residents of the community of Bridgetown and surrounding area.  Affilitated with the Club 400 Program for Annapolis County.  Contact for more information. 

Club 400 is a rewards and incentive program for residents of Annapolis County, encouraging everyone to become physically active!

Walking is currently the #1 physical activity in Annapolis County.  The Club 400 - Walking Program capitalizes on the popularity of walking by providing participants with a Heart&Stroke Walkabout Starter Kit (includes a reliable pedometer to count your daily steps, a logbook to keep track of your steps from week to week, and a collection of printed materials to inspire you and help you find your path).  Once you start tracking your steps, you can log on to walkaboutns.ca, join the Club 400 online group, and track your progress online.

Family Matters offers comprehensive programs and services in the County of Annapolis with specific centres located in Annapolis Royal, Middleton and Bridgetown.  Programs offered at the centres include parenting programs and workshops, a toy lending library, a home visit and well-baby program, a children's clothing exchange, a teen parent support group, and programs for divorced and separated parents. The Annapolis County Family Resource Centre also provides outreach programs in rural areas.  Contact for more information.

Heart to Heart™ is a 6-week education program for cardiac patients and their families.  Education topics include exercise, medications, nutrition, and emergency planning.  This program is suitable for patients with a history of heart disease (i.e. angina, heart attack, stents, CABG, heart transplant, valve replacement, etc) and may also be beneficial for persons with diabetes.

Group of cardiac patients who meet to review scheduling of in-hospital visitation of cardiac and stroke patients.  "Helping Hearts" are cardiac and stroke patients who are happy to talk to fellow patients with a similar condition, who are living a normal and happy life.  Volunteers can visit while the patient is in-hospital or at their convenience in their home.  The "Helping Hearts" also provide cardiac information at community events.  Please contact for more information.

Offering a variety of group nutrition classes and individual nutrition counseling services; contact for more information on what services are available.  Some examples of group classes  include heart healthy eating, reading food labels, healthy weights/weight concerns.  Individualized counseling available for general healthy eating, bowel concerns, vegetarian eating, vitamins and minerals, sport nutrition, food allergies and intolerances, and much more.  Led by professional dietitians.
