Get moving and active with the County Fair Pacers Walking Club, an indoor walking program.  Come out to meet new and old friends. 

Participants keep track of the distance they walk in the binder at the Lotto Booth in the County Fair Mall.  Once a year, a breakfast is held with prizes awarded. For only $5.00 per year, participants receive a Heart & Stroke T-Shirt. Contact for more information.

This 10-week program is designed to help heal the heart!  For both heart patients and their partners, the program includes a supervised exercise program and education sessions with the program staff.  Education topics include learning about heart disease and the importance of rehab, managing stress, physical activity for persons with heart disease, heart healthy eating, cooking heart healthy meals, and medications.  Program staff include a cardiologist, nurse, dietitian, kinesiologist and psychologist.  New participants are admitted every 5 weeks to the program.  Contact for more information.

The mission of the Greenwood Military Family Resource Centre is to provide opportunities for military families to participate in the development, delivery, utilization and evaluation of programs and services that address the uniqueness of the military lifestyle, through a community development process.  A variety of programs and services are offered including child, youth and parenting programs.  Visit website or contact for more information.

The Indoor Walking Club provides a safe, low impact activity space for people of all ages.  Walkers, runners, parents and tots are all welcome!  There is no charge for this program.  Contact the Parks and Recreation Department for more information.  Program runs from November- April.

Group of cardiac patients who meet every 3 months to review scheduling of in-hospital visitation of cardiac patients.  "Helping Hearts" are cardiac patients who would be happy to talk to other cardiac patients who have a similar condition and are living a normal, happy life.  Volunteers can arrange to visit the patient and their family/caregiver while the patient is in-hospital or at their convenience when at home.  Contact for more information on program.
