Part of a National Volkssport Federation which in itself is part of an International Volkssport Federation in more than 30 countries.  Here in Nova Scotia, the Central Nova Volkssport Club offers group-guided walking tours on a monthly basis which are open to all individuals. The CHIP initiative is a supportive, culturally empowering and flexible program for off-reserve Mi'kmaq/Aboriginal parents and their children aged 0 to 6 supporting a child's "Brighter Future".  Facilitators are located in Truro, Sydney and Liverpool.  Visit website or contact for more information.  An initiative of the Native Council of Nova Scotia. 

Colchester Stroke club meets every Tuesday from 10:30am to 2:00pm, September to June at the Lion's Club in Truro. All stroke survivors and their caregivers, family members and volunteers are welcome.

Maggie's Place strives to enhance the health and social development of children ages 0-6 years, and their families, in Cumberland and Colchester Counties.  Providing a variety of promotion and prevention services and programs, its aim is to support families through preconception, prenatal, infant and early childhood periods.
